Boredom
I'm having one of those mornings where my desire to be productive is competing with my desire to be lazy. There's stuff I should probably take care of around the house, and writing I did on Thursday night that I kind of want to continue, and a need to go shopping for some new jeans, and e-mails from friends that need responses, and a million other bits of responsibility nagging, and all I wanna do is turn my back on all of that and find some stimulating entertainment.
Problem is, I'm feeling indecisive as to how to amuse myself. Reading generally works, but I did a bit of that last night. I got my mindless comedy fix Friday night when I saw Superbad. And I reached my quota of junk tv when I spent a couple hours watching Sell This House on A&E yesterday afternoon (which, by the way, was deliciously aggravating. What's not to love about a show that reminds you how woefully unimaginative most Americans are? My favorite moment was when a woman checking out a Vegas townhouse made a comment about the owner's pet rat, implying that it would discourage her from making an offer, as if the thing was an appliance to be included in the transaction.).
Generally, when I get this way, I wind up eating or napping. But neither of those seem really appealing right now. If it wasn't raining, I'd burn off this restless energy with a nice walk, so perhaps I'll find somewhere indoors where I can just wander aimlessly.
Yeah, getting out into the world is just what the doctor ordered.
