Is it just me, or does it seem weird and ironic that Ted DiBiase Jr. is portraying a boot-lick within Randy Orton’s little faction? I just saw him on Raw for the first time a couple weeks ago, and didn’t think much of his heel turn at the time, but then I watched again this week and realized that it doesn’t make any sense for him to be a mindless follower, considering his lineage.

I mean seriously folks, his father’s gimmick was all about using money to control people! Are we supposed to accept that this belief system wasn’t passed down? That little Teddy did not inherit the Million Dollar Man’s need to demonstrate the power that his wealth afforded?

Call me a continuity nerd, but I think the WWE is really missing out by not making this part of his character. They’re already acknowledging that he’s from a multi-generational wrestling family. It wouldn’t be a stretch to have him play a spoiled rich kid who feels entitled to even more privilege than he already has (yeah, I know that’s been done with Shane McMahon), and consequently feels compelled to challenge Orton for alpha male status within The Legacy. That would make for some interesting conflict, methinks. More interesting than watching him kowtow to Orton’s whims, anyway.

With burning issues like this, it’s no wonder I lose so much sleep! Oh well, I guess it’s better than more talk about Twilight!
