Eff the rat race
Jul. 30th, 2009 07:15 amI really need to start getting dressed for work, but I'm moving slow this morning, and sitting on my living room carpet listening to the not-so-distant morning song of a cheerful bird.
I really just want to keep sitting. And keep listening. I want time to stop, if only for a week or so. If I'm to be completely honest, I'm a little tired of the daily grind these days. I grow weary of my place within the rat race.
But I can't opt out, or if I can, I'm not fully clear on how to go about it. So I must press on until I can find a better way to live.
If nothing else, I have more reading to look forward to. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is a delightful story, a thousand times better than it is in movie form. Makes me wish for my own magical night of romance and music, but then again, doesn't everything?
Alright, enough of this. I gotta find some clothes.
