Things that have made me happy lately

Eating tasty food and getting to catch up with fuzzilla.

Spending a weeknight evening with Dawn before she becomes a mama. And enjoying the peaceful pleasantness that is a Metra train ride in order to get out to the burbs to meet her.

Listening to my nephew joyfully sing a Taylor Swift song, being completely unaware that he was conveying the perspective and desires of a teenage girl lamenting her unrequited love.

Settling on some really solid details for a scene that's been kicking my ass.

I think that's all. Not really much going on with me right now, since I've been riding out the last of my illness and doing very little else. It's made me incredibly restless, to the point where I'm spending a lot of time daydreaming about what it might be like to pick up and move somewhere new, just stealing away into the night and starting from scratch. Have to finish the old MFA first, but once that's done I might have to give some serious thought to indulging my Seattle relocation fantasies. Aside from all my great friends, there's really not much keeping me tied to Chicago anymore, save for its lifelong familiarity.

I hope the little girl on the new Windows commercials is right when she says, "More happy is coming." That would be really awesome right about now.
