Dec. 27th, 2009

Let me just say for the record that I am still standing in the wake of Christmas, even though the Holiday Madness World Tour was replaced by an entirely different sort of Holiday Madness.

It goes without saying that my favorite parts of this season/month had everything to do with the friends whose company I enjoyed.

Early in the month, there was an outing with C to the holiday version of the Renegade Craft Fair where we didn't buy anything but enjoyed some tasty mulled wine.

About a week later the woman who oversees my department along with several others brought us all to Volare for a really wonderful dinner.

Then there was the larger holiday work party, which I enjoyed mostly because it was followed by some quality time with K at my house, where we made mac and cheese and watched way too much Veronica Mars.

D and K had me over the Saturday before Christmas for a spectacular dinner and more VM-watching.

I got to clink glasses with Rob on the night of the 23rd, when he stopped by to make sure my head didn't explode after my sister traumatized my cat and left her kids behind.

And then on Christmas Eve night there was a fun visit to Steph's where I was fed delicious food yet again and I got to play Toe Jam and Earl on the Sega Genesis whist eating shortbread cookies and drinking spiked vegan eggnog.

All of these things more than make up for all the stuff that wasn't so pleasant or cheery.

So yeah, I guess when I look at this period as a whole I don't have grounds for too much complaint. At least, that's what I'll keep telling myself to keep from dwelling on the negative bits.

Hope all of you had an enjoyable santa season as well! Now it's onward to 2010! But not before I settle in to watch Santa With Muscles thanks to Comcast OnDemand! :)
