Gathering momentum
Mar. 4th, 2013 10:13 amSince mid-October of 2012, I have been struggling very hard with a novel chapter. It involves a very pivotal scene that includes the fight choreography of a wrestling match, and so I labored long and hard, wanting to make sure I got things as right as I possibly could before moving forward. I was also delayed because my weekly writing group did not meet as consistently as it normally does between November and now, due to holiday obligations and some travel excursions that Steph and I took separately.
But these last couple weeks I've been regaining my focus, and yesterday, after what seemed like endless trial and error, I have FINALLY wrapped up this scene and gave Tim the injury that will be the catalyst for most of the conflict that transpires through the end of Act 2!
I feel like such an enormous weight has been lifted. And though I don't want to get overconfident, I feel like the worst part of this novel draft is over, and I might hope to pick up some speed in finishing the rest of the manuscript!
Just wanted to post about this, because it's a very triumphant feeling!!!
