I've been too busy to post anything of substance lately. I apologize for that. I've also been in a bit of a late-winter funk that is only now starting to relent with the melting of the snow.
And even if I wasn't busy, I don't know that I'd really have much to report.
Well, I guess I can say a few things:
Work has been engaging, but also exhausting.
The novel continues at a glacial but steady pace.
I saw live wrestling for the first time in a while last Friday night. It was good, but not fully satisfying.
A new friend took me to a big Japanese grocery store in the suburbs last Saturday. It was a fun outing, and I bought Pocky.
I just finished reading Mick Foley's Countdown to Lockdown, and was moved to tears by his sensitivity and kindness.
I marked out like whoa during this week's Raw. Apparently, I love The Rock a lot more than I thought I did.
I'm visiting St. Louis for the first time next Wednesday and Thursday. It's a work trip, so I doubt there will be much sight-seeing, but I'm excited to have a change of scenery for a few days.
I'm feeling perpetually overextended and overscheduled, and I know I need to do something about it, but am not sure what.
Also thinking a lot about my desire to move. It's been getting stronger lately, and I think it's mostly winter-related, but even now that it's getting warmer I keep fantasizing about finding someone to buy my condo right quick so I have nothing holding me back from leaving for the Pacific Northwest.
And then this morning, it smelled like Seattle.
And I keep encountering mentions of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
Oh well, at least my trip to Wrestlemania gives me something else to focus on. And I'm hosting a Tamale Hut reading this weekend.
If I can just get through the big project I'm managing for work (which will be over in a few weeks) I think I'll be okay.
