At the risk of sounding like a total dork...

I woke up sometime in the middle of the night and even though the bedroom door was closed I could hear the TV from the living room and the music at the end of the first Rocky film was playing. I thought about getting up and joining M to watch it, because I have such a hard-on for that movie, but instead I shifted into a more comfortable position and lay in the dark, straining my ears to catch the string instruments as they swelled to a crescendo. Stallone was getting thumped I think, because I heard a couple loud whacks, and then he was panting and shouting, "Adrian."

I didn't hear Adrian respond at first, but then really faint, her soft voice rang out, "Rocky."

They went back and forth like that for a few minutes, "Adrian." "Rocky." "Adrian." "Rocky." until I could tell they were finally in each others arms, and even though I've seen that moment a million times, hearing it again got me all excited, and I got really impatient for the new movie to come out. I'm still a little skeptical after the debacle that was Rocky V, but I'm holding out hope that one of my favorite film franchises won't disappoint me again.

Why did I just share all this? Because good movies are really important, dammit!

Well, if you have to watch any of the Rocky movies, the first one's the one. :) Actuallly, I'm a sucker for it too. I like the montage: the running, the punching of the beef, the upthrust fists on the steps of the courthouse. Yes, yes, stuffed full of cliches, but it works. Pure guts.

LV is nigh--more when I get back. Enjoy your reading, and let us hear all about it.
