Scratch me, please

How is it possible that a sunburn from Friday's work retreat has waited until tonight to start itching? And what makes it worse is that it's not deep enough to peel. Maybe if it was I could scratch it away and get some relief. But no, instead I have to sit here with mottled, irritated knees because I couldn't be bothered to put sunblock on my legs like I knew I should have. I've actually had a couple instances lately where I've ignored my instincts, only to learn that they were right all along.

Stupid fair skin. Just when I was starting to appreciate my paleness and enjoy the freckles that have been multiplying across my arms and shoulders I have to get a reminder that my lack of pigment is the bane of my existence.

Note to self: SPF 45 is your best friend!
