Tamale Hut: Fuck Yeah!

seabird78I just wanna say that nights like tonight are the reason that I've been running a reading series for three-plus years.
I got to introduce one of my favorite writers. I got to read a piece that I was pretty happy with and that I think was fairly well received. And! And! And! There was a shit-ton of open mic participants! All of them quality, I must add. And the place was packed to the point that folding chairs had to be brought out to seat everyone!
It's nice to know that Chicago's literary scene isn't exclusive to the North Side, you know? And that I play a small part in that. Perhaps Tamale Hut Cafe Presents won't be a best-kept-secret for much longer....
