I tried doing a little writing today, but after a busy weekend that included live music at Metro (thanks Reb!) and a screening of an independent film in which I had a tiny speaking part (again, thanks Reb, especially for the dip and crackers!) I was kind of exhausted.

So I slept in, caught up on some DVR'd wrestling (TNA is getting interesting, IMHO) and succumbed to my desire for a girlie flick. I ordered Music and Lyrics on OnDemand this evening, and though I normally roll my eyes at films about romance, I thought this one was really sweet and cute and moving. I suppose I have a bias because I'm partial to Drew Barrymore, but even if I didn't I think I would have found this to be quality.

And of course, now I'm fantasizing about becoming a songwriter. And about having a handsome, sensitive man write a beautiful song expressing just how much he loves me.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a fool for love. But only sometimes.

I actually really liked Music and Lyrics. It was a pleasant surprise.

You were great in the movie! Perfectly cast.

Indeed it was. I also think I liked it as much as I did because I have a weakness for movies that feature music of the process of making music as a main part of the plot. Hence my list of all-time favorites including titles like Once, The Commitments, Moulin Rouge, and the like.

And thanks for the kind words about the movie. I like that I was rotoscoped!
