No better way to spend a Saturday
May. 19th, 2007 03:46 pmI feel like I should be outside enjoying the nice weather, but since I haven't showered yet and am not suitable for public consumption, I figure I'll squeeze out a quick update.
Let's see...I finally started working on letters at work yesterday. It was really slow going, but my bosses reviewed my initial drafts and were very pleased with what I came up with. It's nice to know I'm on the right track, and love how supportive and encouraging they are.
Last night was pretty uneventful. I was feeling pretty exhausted, and wiped out after some thai food and the latest episode of The Ultimate Fighter.
This morning I got up early and decided to go back to Weight Watchers. I'm only about 7lbs. away from the goal I had when I was still going about a year ago, and initially I was gonna try to drop that poundage on my own to save money, but I've been gaining and losing the same two lbs. for too long, so I figure it's worth a shot if only because they have a monthly pass that includes online stuff as well in case I get tired of the meetings again.
I also finally moseyed over to the Kempo school that's not far from me, and got some info about taking classes. Their beginners class is Tuesday nights, and the guy I talked to offered to let me come and try it for free to see if I like it well enough to sign up for some sort of regular package. I think this'll work better for me than joining a gym, because I'm much better at sticking to exercise if I have a schedule to follow.
Not much else to report aside from that. I'm supposed to go to a party tonight for a friend who just finished her MFA, and tomorrow I'm going to watch another friend read at this magazine release party, so in the meantime I'm enjoying some solitude and trying to mentally prepare for two straight evenings of being really social.
Don't get me wrong...I enjoy going out, and I can mix and mingle with the best of them when I have to, but only when I balance it out with some quality down time.
