Random observation

seabird78I can tell I've been away from the computer for a while...my nails have grown to the point where typing makes me aware of them. My nail length is also a reflection of my stress level, so the fact that they're long and pretty is important for more than just superficial reasons, but knowing this, I'm sizing up my hands, waiting for an inevitable crack to pick at or an uneven corner to knaw on, so I can at least anticipate when the other shoe is gonna drop. I guess I should just forget about it, and maybe even try to preserve their beauty with a manicure or something.
Or stay off the computer even more.
Being unplugged for the week wasn't at all unpleasant, and even though I'm glad to be back on reading people's posts, I've amazed myself at my ability to disengage from this world and engage more deeply with the real world without the slightest bit of anxiety or sense of loss. That's not to say that the relationships I have on here are unimportant, it simply means that I'm happy to learn that I am capable of connecting with people in a physical environment. And I want to do that more often.
