Saw the new Rocky. (Decent, but not as awe-inspiring as I hoped.)

Got the color stripped out of my hair.

Ate free dinner at TGI Fridays.

Enjoyed watching Chuck Liddell clobber Tito Ortiz (even though Mario Yamasaki was the ref, not my man Big John.)

Slept nice and late.

Sorted through CDs and books.

Ate free dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.

Watched The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things.

Read Persepolis.

Slept nice and late.

Watched the last half of Pulp Fiction for the millionth time.

Had a good workout.

Read some of a biography about Zelda Fitzgerald

Ate free dinner at Olive Garden.

Had an unexpected nap.

Subjected myself to the train wreck that was WWE Raw.

Tried unsuccessfully to get to sleep at a decent hour.

Drank sleepytime tea.

Finally conked out around 3 a.m.

Think the insomnia thing must be going around! I didn't sleep New Year's night either.

Persepolis! That's on my shelf and on my "to read" list! Did you enjoy it? ("Enjoy" being used advisedly, given the subject matter.)

It was pretty educational, as I am not familiar with culture on that side of the world at all. And yeah, I guess it was enjoyable as well, because she was able to tackle a very serious subject with a mixture of humor, sarcasm, sadness, and insight.

I'd say definitely check it out!

damn, there's a lot of free food in your nutshell...i need a shell like that.

i was hoping Liddell would win...but i didn't like the way it ended...Tito was still intelligently defending himself...i'm pretty sure all those punches to his bicep weren't gonna knock him out...the refs are getting too soft lately....they need to go old school.

If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the fucking car.

Yeah, I had a lot of giftcards to use up...the only one of those places I frequent regularly when I'm paying myself is CPK.

You're not the only one I know who was disappointed with the Tito/Chuck ending. but if you watch the replay really close, some of those bicep punches were getting a bit farther through. And I figured since he wasn't whining about being able to continue, the win was legit.

What did you think of The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things? I liked it, even though it was a bit pretentious, like trying too hard.

Definitely trying too hard. Asia Argento's turn as a crazed white trash lady was more comical to me than anything else.

I loved the part when the boy broke into Anarchy in the UK at his grandfather's house though.

Even if you've seen it a zillion times, how can you just watch the second half of PF each time??

Oh, I'm sorry I guess I might have been confusing. I've seen the whole film a zillion times, and in this particular case I came in at the point where John Travolta is getting his stash from Eric Stoltz.
