I have to admit, I didn't really pay all that much attention to the game. But I did tear myself away from my oven scrubbing every so often to take a peek at the commercials. And even though this probably makes me silly, I couldn't help but get a little sniffly (ok, actually a lot sniffly) when they aired the GM spot with the assembly line robot who had a nightmare about getting fired. I'd like to think I got all emotional because the cold was affecting my hormones, but I know that's bullshit. Bottom line, they did a really good job of personifying that hunk of metal, making you empathize with its plight.

Yeah, I'm a sap. So shoot me.

There were a couple good ones. Not sure which was the best though, because they all took such wildly differing approaches.

Hmm, I don't remember that one, and I did actually watch the game and all the commercials. I got teary at the "who's winning? We all are" commercial ('cuz I guess it's the first time the coaches from both teams were black).

Overall I thought the commercials were pretty disappointing.

Yeah, that was a moving commercial too, but my favorites, aside from the GM one included the silent KFC spot, and the one for Nationwide insurance with K-Fed. God, I can't believe I just referred to him by that name! :)

Thank you for making me feel better. I teared up during that and felt ridiculous about it afterward!

Glad it wasn't just me. I thought I was just being overly sensitive.

Right there with ya.. I also really liked the Budweiser commercial with the dog who wanted to be a dalmation. Except, you know, that it was a fucking Budweiser commercial. What was the meaning there? Budweiser makes your dreams come true!

That's what they want ya to think! I was so happy when that dog finally had some good fortune.
