Good prompts make me post
I should really be getting ready for work, but I decided that it would be more fun to start my day with a stolen meme. Thanks goes to
acdntlpoet for posting this one!
1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2. Tag seven people to do the same.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.
1. When I'm shopping for books or media (CDs, DVDs, etc.) I have a hard time purchasing just one item. Generally I have to buy them in 3s, although not necessarily three of the same type of thing. (One book, one DVD, and one CD would be acceptable.)
2. When I was about 7 or 8, I got to do a photo shoot for a brochure being circulated by a social service agency where my mom's friend worked. A few of my pics were actually selected for the final piece, so I got to be the face of foster children.
3. Being someone who has been able to parlay a creative writing degree into gainful employment that includes writing as a primary task, gives me no end of satisfaction.
4. I really enjoy traveling alone, and I can't wait for the day when I have enough money and leisure time to take myself somewhere nice at least once a year.
5. I went to Vegas in January and managed to go a whole weekend only gambling about 5 bucks.
6. I have an unhealthy obsession with chest hair on men. I don't like it if there's too much, but when it's proportionate and revealed somewhat subtly it makes me excited.
7. I fantasize about moving to the west coast, namely Portland or the Bay Area almost daily.
I have to come back here later and tag people to do this, because if I don't I'm really gonna be late.

Now, I must comment:
2. While you were the face of foster children, I was the face of Bacchus for my collegiate creative writing journal "Calliope". Replete with toga, grapes, and some serious cool makeup to give my portly visage some level of definition (read, it made me look chiseled!) I would have preferred to be PUBLISHED in the journal, but I guess my photo will have to do.
4. I can't imagine traveling alone.
5. I have actually been to Vegas and not gambled at all. In my defense, though, I despise Vegas and will do everything I can to avoid the casinos.
7. I had the same obsession. Then, one day, something clicked and jean and I just did it. We made the move and haven't looked back! One of the best things we have ever done! (We chose Portland just because the Bay Area was toooo expensive. Plus, we lived in SoCal, so the Bay Area wouldn't have been a very dramatic move, which is what we wanted.)
Ya know, I really should have tagged you instead of some of the people I did tag. For some reason I didn't think you'd actually do it if I did. Guess I was W.R.O.N.G. wrong about that! ;)

OK, I'll bite
1. Had a bone marrow transplant for leukemia in Aug. '88--next year marks 20 years.
2. I'm a little obsessive-compulsive about locking my doors and turning my car lights off. I date it from my retail days. Once I went in to work at 1 p.m. on an overcast day, left my lights on, came out at 9:30 p.m., and the car wouldn't even turn over. Ever since...
3. Secretly intrigued by the songs of Conway Twitty.
4. I can usually tell which students are going to pass, which will barely pass, and which will fail by the end of the second week. Though surprises are always welcome.
5. I thought buying a house would change me in some mystical way, but it's more or less the same as renting, with more maintenance.
6. Sucker for diners.
7. I bite my nails.
There's more, but I'll stop. :)
